As a result, some clans were increasingly flourishing, and some were on the decline. Amongst them, clans that could become examples for future generations are as follows: Liu of Renwu Village, Shen and Chiang of Wenwu Village, Lin of Wulin Village, Chien of Jhuhou Village, Wu of Wuluodacuo in Kaotan Village, Cheng of Wannei Village, and hsieh (of Catonese Hakka origin) of Bagua Village. In the beginning, after coming to Taiwan, the forefathers of each clan scattered in all corners of the township. With the spirits of pioneers, they bore hardship and hard work, and through industry and thrift, they painstakingly toiled to give an initial shape to the township in the early days of the Ching Dynasty. Recalling the forefathers' painstaking efforts, we ought to spare no effort to make the hometown prosper and devote ourselves heart and soul to the township and the country. Only by carrying on the heritage so as to pave the way for future generations, can we be worthy of the descendants of the dragon. |
